Labor Board Nominee Becker Seeks To Answer Critics At Hearing

WASHINGTON (Dow Jones)--Craig Becker, who has seen his nomination to a key labor board stall in the Senate, on Tuesday sought to assuage concerns from Republicans and business groups that he would prove too much of a pro-union influence on the board.
Becker, a union lawyer who has served as counsel to the Service Employees International Union and the AFL-CIO, was nominated by President Barack Obama to serve on the five-member National Labor Relations Board.
