Former Lake Worth commissioner and SEIU-backed hecklers disrupt Rubio speech to Florida delegates

Former Lake Worth city commissioner and self-described anarchist Cara Jennings and other hecklers disrupted a speech by Sen. Marco Rubio to Florida’s Republican convention delegation this morning.
The group was escorted out of a meeting facility at the Innisbrook resort and given trespassing warnings by Pinellas County deputies.
One of the hecklers, Toni Rosenberg of Boca Raton, said she and others had their lodging and meals paid for by Stand Up Florida. Stand Up Florida is financed by a liberal group called One Miami. State records list One Miami’s directors as Service Employees International Union Florida State Council President Monica Russo, SEIU Florida Vice President Martha Baker and SEIU Florida executive board member Eric Brakken.
Stand Up Florida, headquartered in West Palm Beach, frequently targets U.S. Rep. Allen West, R-Palm Beach Gardens.
Rubio seemed unperturbed by the disruptions.
“Well, I guess he’s not happy with the hotel assignment,” Rubio said after the first heckler, John Pope of West Palm Beach, interrupted his remarks. The Florida delegation’s accommodations, about 30 miles from the convention site, are a running joke with speakers who visit the delegates.
The hecklers didn’t have delegate credentials, but Jennings and Rosenberg said they were able to walk into the breakfast. Deputies gave trespass warnings to about 10 people associated with the hecklers
