Boeing's Wichita employees disappointed with transfer offers, Machinists say
Source: Wichita Business Journal

The Boeing Co. is still struggling to convince employees at its Wichita defense plant to transfer to San Antonio, the Wichita Eagle reports.

Boeing plans to shut down its Wichita site and move most of the facility's work to San Antonio and Oklahoma City. But the Eagle reports that in meetings this week, employees haven't embraced transfer opportunities, according to the Machinists union.

Many employees don't want to transfer to a non-union facility, and they expect that if they transfer, they'll have to train new San Antonio workers to do their jobs, sources tell the Eagle.
