Members of the Service Employees International Union 1021 bargaining team will meet with San Joaquin County officials today for what is expected to be the last meeting to determine if a contract agreement can be reached, according to union officials.

At 5 p.m., hundreds of workers will gather in front of the County Administration building at San Joaquin and Weber streets in Stockton to hear about results from the meeting.

If no agreement can be reached or if mediation is denied today, the next possible move is for the county and union is to agree to mediation and fact-finding.  If the county refuses to mediate, it may move to impose terms and conditions onto workers, according to SEIU spokeswoman Anna Bakalis.
